Scheduled to be held on February 19 and 20, the India Bike Week has unveiled a multi-faceted list of events that will be a part of this two-day motorcycle extravaganza, according to a press release. CEO and founder of the organising company Seventy EMG, Martin Da Costa, said, ‘‘India Bike Week 2016 will be our biggest edition yet. We’ve got never before seen experiences like the Moto Trails show by Dougie Lampkin, and the Hard Enduro Challenge alongside all our classics,” and added, “We really felt that IBW had arrived in a big way in Feb 2015 and it was such a pleasure when EEMA voted it India’s best Public Event. Now we’re looking forward to really making it the biggest and best Bike Festival in Asia.”
This year, the India Bike Week is also set to host India’s first ever official Hard Enduro event, added the release. The premier official Enduro challenge at IBW 2016 is open for general participation by amateur Moto Cross teams.
Catering to the artistic side of the bikers, the two-day affair will also feature the Moto Art Collective and its first ever Film Festival. Movies revolving around the passion of biking will be showcased across three categories, namely Heels on Wheels (films highlighting unique take on women riders), Milestories (travel and adventure films beyond biking experiences) and Two-wheeler Talkies (films based around the passion of motorcycles and a love for the roads).
Other highlights at the IBW 2016 include IBW Main Street – India’s ‘Rio Carnival’ for bikers, Moto Art Collective – a curated collection of Motorcycle & Moto Culture inspired Art exhibited at a gallery style space, India’s National Stunt Championship, the Bikini Bike Wash and much more.
The festival’s rise to prominence has also been underpinned by the coming together of biking clubs across the country. Additionally, some of the biggest brands in the automotive industry, including Harley-Davidson, DSK-Benelli, Shell, CEAT etc., have also fostered good relations with the biking community of India.
